Air Imports/Exports - Mississauga

Well-established and respected International freight forwarder in the Airport area is seeking
a bright, teachable air freight imports or exports person to develop and train in various
departments including cross-training in customs. You will likely have between 1 and 2 years
of air imports or exports in a recognized international freight forwarder, have a strong interest
in growth and development and have excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities
- Along with very good written and verbal communications skills, the
candidate must have knowledge and experience in:
- Customer service.
- Receive pre-alerts of shipments
- Set up of customer files from scratch
- Work with the CBSA and CFIA inspection departments.
- Rate shipments and process invoicing to clients
- Prepare and send out arrival notices and invoices promptly.
- Arrange for 3rd party brokers to customs clear cargo
- Co-ordinate door deliveries with the broker, terminals and carriers.
- Approve supplier invoices.
- Providing proactive client service and handling client inquiries
- Replies to requests for information from clients, suppliers or government employees.
- Presents to Customs the documents required for the release of goods.
- Carries out any particular task or mandate assigned by her/his superior and/or Management.
- Conforms to any requirement of the Quality System and undertakes any action in order to ensure
client satisfaction and/or increase effectiveness or efficiency as a company
Qualifications
- The company is looking for a minimum of 1-2 years in Air Freight Imports or Exports
- Proactive attitude in following up issues with customers, CBSA, carriers.
- Good organizational, communicational and problem solving skills.
- Eager to learn and grow; excellent communications skills
- CIFFA or CCS designation or working towards either designation is an asset
