This well established multi-service logistics provider is seeking an experienced leader coming
directly from a recognized international air/ocean freight forwarder. You have a track record of staff and
customer development with supportive attitudes and a desire for progressive growth.

You have an in-depth knowledge of Imports and Exports, including L/Cs and have supervised or managed
effectively through your excellent communications skills and ability to define customer and staff needs.
You generate trust and credibility through conducting yourself with high integrity and setting a great
example to your staff.

- Responsible for hiring, firing, training and development of staff; performance and productivity
  reviews and reporting

- Rates and services negotiations with all modes of transport: FCL, LCL, Air Imports/Exports, TL, FTL

- Overseeing the accurate preparation of OBLS, AWBS and Truck B/Ls and related export and import
  documentation; Hazmat and DGC training and adherence to related regulations

- Training of sales representatives in international freight forwarding concepts;  market strategizing

- Key customer retention activities with established and new customers in their utilizing the international
  freight services of the company

- Overseeing the daily operations and implementation of international freight
  systems and procedures in line with accepted international standards

- Major liaison between the company and the customers on all matters regarding international freight forwarding

- Growth and profitability of import and export services in targeted markets

- Financial and budgetary reporting and forecasting; monthly profitability and productivity reportd


 

- A minimum of 10 years of international freight forwarding operations and some sales experience
  in Canada; CIFFA certified preferred, other industry credentials welcomed

- Experienced in supervising an effective operations team in international ocean/air freight forwarding

- Excellent negotiating skills and reputation established with air/ocean/land carriers

- Focused on results; aware of the competition and able to create innovative solutions
  for present and future customers in the region

- Aggressive in uncovering new opportunities for profitable growth

- A consultative approach to selling and customer development and retention

- A post-secondary degree in Business or Administrative disciplines is strongly preferred


 

Base salary range is open to negotiation and is commensurate with experience and qualifications
