The Customs Analyst serves as a
key resource at for customs and brokerage issues within a Customs Self
Assessment (CSA) environment. This position’s key responsibilities will include
managing daily release reports, creating Canada Customs invoices for tier II
suppliers, classifying new parts under the Canadian Harmonized System and
maintaining vendor data bases.

- Maintain supplier parts databases with HS Classification and tariff
quantities.
- Run daily release reports from broker system to verify internal purchase order
numbers and releases
requiring back end CCI accounting documents.
- Download daily B3 Data Reports and match against Master CCI reports to check
for open or duplicate entries.
- Assist with daily processing of Low Value Courier Shipments (CLVS)
- Assist with the preparation of Canada Customs Invoices for tier II suppliers.
- Identify new vendors for updating the Trade Chain Partner Report to CBSA
- Verify US customs brokerage invoices and code brokerage fees and duty.
- Assist with annual NAFTA solicitation process
- Assist with monthly reporting and payment of monthly duties and taxes.
- Provide after hours assistance on a rotating basis.
- Post-secondary education
and a Certified Customs Specialist designation, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years in customs compliance capacity – machinery sector preferable.
- High proficiency in MS Excel required
- Thorough knowledge of the Customs Tariff, The Customs Act, Trade Agreements
and
detailed knowledge of the customs program; Customs Self Assessment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Accounting Principles an asset.
