Well-established logistics provider is seeking a qualified and experienced Director with strong knowledge of transborder truck, air, ocean and rail freight for a key position directing and overseeing all aspects of daily operations, imports and exports.
This requires an uncommon level of experience in intermodal freight, clear vision and evident leadership and communications skills.

Project Cargo / Break-bulk / Oversized
Ship Charter, Heavylift, and Ro-Ro Specialists
Airfreight Critical, including On-Board Courier service & Air Charter
Dangerous Goods / Hazmat
Ocean Freight / LCL consolidation
Directing the transportation component of the company including road, air, ocean and intermodal shipments
· Managing pricing, costs, service failures and audit billing amounts and carrier pay-outs for anomalies and to ensure proper billing to customers
· Auditing service failures for trends in poor performance
· Ensure pricing to customers is competitive and that we will make a predetermined margin of profit
· Ensure LTL planning on Expedited trucks creates revenue (decrease empty miles, etc.)
· Visiting key customers and maintaining relationships; accompanying sales staff to assist in closing profitable new business
· Participate in, and attend management committees meetings as required
· Work with other departments to achieve a common objective of meeting or exceeding company goals
· Managing an experienced and busy Logistics staff
- Determine goals, responsibilities and duties of staff
- Provide procedures and tools required to fulfill goals
- Ensure that staff is properly trained to perform duties and monitor progress, provide guidance on how to overcome obstacles
- Problem solve and provide solutions to refine and improve on departmental goals and procedures
· Minimal travel required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 7-10 years of management experience, minimum, with a strong interest in supply chain and logistics operations.
A solid level of professionalism, customer service, interpersonal skills, and overall communication skills.
New business, customer management, and negotiating skills.
Ability to build and nurture loyal customer relationships.
