We have been given a mandate by the CSCB to search for an Educational Programs Coordinator.
This person works as an integral member of a team
involved in the design and
support of Web-based, multimedia and other distance education course materials.
The ideal candidate would likely
have 7 to 10 years recent customs consulting or customs operations experience.
This is a unique opportunity to combine your flair for writing coupled with a
strong base of industry knowledge to
develop stimulating and informative course
materials for the new generation of people working in the field of customs
and border services. Relocation is open to discussion.

- Development of course material with appropriate advice from and support of
more senior staff.
- In collaboration with the team, conduct research, identify learning objectives
and activities, and develops
the course outline and activity sequence.
- Conduct appropriate research focused on the needs of industry.
- Research includes article reviews, white papers, conference information, focus
groups, best practices, customer feedback,
experts in the field, current research, real world information from
corporate and governmental agencies, and executives/managers
who manage/lead in the industry.
- Keep pace with developments in customs and border issues.
- Deliver and contribute to the development of professional education courses
and programs.
- Utilize various evaluation methods to determine the effectiveness of the
course materials.
- Apply principles of student-centred program instruction in the creation and
maintenance of Web and print-based course materials.
- Work in close cooperation with other staff in implementing design methods.
- Work in a team in the design and creation of Web and print-based course
materials.

In-depth customs brokerage experience with emphasis on a well-rounded knowledge
of
customs processes, procedures and relevant legislation.

Experience in a hands-on operational or customs consulting role.
- Current and active CCS Designation is essential.

Excellent organization and communications skills; a team-player.

The ability to synthesize information effectively and write clearly and
concisely.

The ability to present information effectively in person.

Possess the ability and willingness to positively contribute to the educational
experience of students studying in a
range of study models including distance and flexible learning modes, project
based learning or industry blended learning.
- Goal-oriented, you are known for displaying initiative and having the
perseverance to bring projects to a successful conclusion.

Bilingualism is an asset but not a requirement.
