Well-established customs broker and logistics provider.
Our client is well-established and well-respected customs brokerage and logistics provider with a medium-sized customs staff.
The opportunity exists to bring your well-developed organizational, managerial and motivational skills to a dynamic team, providing leadership
and direction to a dedicated group of colleagues.
Set operational and financial goals and objectives for the branch; fully responsible for Profit and Loss and service performance.
 
Manage key client relationships for the branch.
 
Measure and monitor results against KPI's established and hold any supervisory level colleagues accountable
 
Complete familiarity with the import customs brokerage process and sets organizational plans for the branch on the handling of the specific clients, this includes the following:
 
o    Products
o    Classifications and Special Customs Details
o    Other government agency compliance requirements
o    Carriers
o    Delivery Specifications
o    Billing Requirements
o    Special Reports
o    A/R Status
o    Client Specific needs and requirements
 
Resolve large or complex issues, and put corrective action in place.
 
Enforce programs, operational and personnel policies and procedures for branch.
 
Diligent execution of duties in order to comply with Customs Brokers' responsibilities.
 
Responsible to maintain and update local broker compliance program within framework of Corporate program.
 
Develops and installs operating procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow.
 
Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to management.
 
Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
 
Responsible for updating job descriptions/procedures for those who report to this position.
 
Directly supervises employees on the Import Team. 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
participation in appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

On call with 24/7 staff but no call outs and no entry preparation.

Licenced Customs Broker.
7-10 years of management experience in a customs operations management role in customs brokerage in Canada.
Strong leadership, training and motivational skills.
Experienced in working with CSA- Approved Importers.
A high level of expertise in Excel is expected.
We look for team players that can create a good working environment.
The Manager will need to be flexible, while also meeting the mutually agreed upon objectives. 
Continuous improvement is necessary and creativity to resolve issues and put corrective actions in place.
