This position is responsible to manage the carrier relationships for Integrated Logistics to improve the client's
profitability and elevate  client service levels through analysis, innovation and negotiation. This position
reports to the Director of Operations. Extensive LTL knowledge is required.



- Evaluate Integrated Logistics present partner relationships and relative volumes and provide recommendations
  for improvements based on client requirements.

- Evaluate current carrier performance.

- Create carrier metrics and an annual review process.

- Work with carriers to improve their service levels to clients.

- Build deeper relationships with partner carriers and work with them to exploit synergies, to create cost saving
  opportunities, to be innovative.

- Analyze the current accessorial/cubing practices in the industry, devise an improved strategy for capturing and
  billing these charges and implement

- Design and implement service level agreements with carriers

- Evaluate carrier requests for price increases, consider carrier performance and market in analysis, coordinate
  any increases with sales where client pricing will be impacted to preserve margin, create a strong knowledge base
  from which to negotiate.

- Search out and develop relationships with regional carriers who excel in their geographic or product niche

- Coordinate buying power  for national carriers as applicable

- Manage day to day service issues and rate requests through team members

- Assist the IT group in improving carrier delivery reporting compliance to support  Track & Trace offering

- Provide support to Sales for solution design and create a rate book for Sales to use in new business development.




- In depth understanding of the Canadian LTL providers by region and product specialty, knowledge of the small
  parcel carriers by region and their capabilities

- Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate competitive rates and preserve/improve relationships

- 3-5 years experience in a similar role with demonstrated success achieving results

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Innovative, creative, strategic thinker

- Highly organized, skilled at balancing multiple priorities and analytical with intermediate to expert level in relevant analytical tools

- Able to cultivate strong working relationships with fellow managers

- Good business acumen and judgment, able to conceptualize, implement and execute programs and processes
