Manage the supply requirements of commodities, parts and services required
to support plant operations in a timely manner.

Manage the development of existing and new vendors and negotiate with these
vendors to ensure quality, timely delivery and cost requirements are met.

Develop and implement strategic objectives and plans pursuant to the supply of
raw materials and services critical to the success of the company's products.

Direct the activities of the Buyer in the preparation of requests for quotation (RFQ's)
for parts and services as required.

Evaluate decision making of the Buyer in the execution of purchasing activities.

Analyze market conditions and economic trends with regard raw materials and
recommend appropriate courses of action.

Maintain files on current purchase orders and contracts and status of same.

Develop and maintain vendor key performance indicators and monitor same.

Develop, recommend and implement purchasing policies and procedures conducive
to good business practice and business integrity.

Maintain records of employee security numbers and control of master and plant keys

Excellent communications skills
Ability to solve practical problems.
Computer literate –Microsoft Word,
Excel/Quattro, Outlook, and Database applications
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills

College or University graduate. College diploma in Supply Management an asset.
PMAC certification in lieu of College diploma acceptable (SCMP designation)
Five (5) years experience in the purchase of non ferrous materials or machinery
Experience in industrial buying in a fast paced reactive environment.
