Very well-established manufacturer of an extensive array of parts, components and machinery for light to heavy industry.

Perform strategic purchasing functions to support production objectives.

This function includes placing Purchase Orders and tracking the purchase to destination.

Vendor follow-up through confirmations and ensuring supplier integrity and performance.

Reducing dead stock, vendor consignment and reducing lead times through negotiation and/or changing vendors.

Improve inventory accuracy and efficiency through developing innovative supply management policies.

Responsible for the supply of raw materials and sourcing of new commodities for use in production.

Responsible for accurate record keeping of strategic purchasing activities.

Develop and implement cost-effective processes and procedures in supply chain sourcing



4 to 6 years of buying experience in a metals, chemicals or machinery environment
College or University graduate strongly preferred with a technical focus
The ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is desired
Involvement in the SCMP Program or possession of a CPP Designation is an asset
Strong computer skills in MS applications - Excel
Resourceful, organized, self-motivated and good negotiator
