Our client is a major player in the automotive sector, a manufacturer of products, with strong market
recognition, multiple plant locations, a first class reputation and the kind of working environment

Our client is looking to hire strong, Senior NAFTA/Trade Compliance Specialists with extensive experience in the automotive
industry to be on both sides of the border, providing support, guidance and training to key personnel
on the importance of compliance with NAFTA rules and regulations. You have your CCS designation and many
years experience in NAFTA and trade compliance issues in the automotive sector, handling related requests for information,
acting as a key liaison between the corporation and Customs officials, resolving issues related to NAFTA and
associated Compliance issues.

An excellent communicator, you are able to act as a trainer, a coach and deliver results under pressure and
within tight time-frames.

As a natural extension of your NAFTA work will be involvement with C-TPAT, PIP and AEO issues for which
the client is prepared to bring you up to speed and provide training if you have less knowledge in this area.

involvement with key decision makers, helping internal and external customers to solve problems, avoid
penalties and meet their objectives.

Ensure that the company's business systems (purchasing, receiving, accounts payable) provide accurate data for import shipments

Maintain appropriate internal controls and audit trails for the receipt, adjustment and payment of shipments

Familiar with Customs Self Assessment, FAST and PIP issues and regulations

Ensure the US based suppliers adhere to CBSA processes and procedures

Review vendor invoices ensuring compliance with CRA legislation

Coordinate the request for NAFTA Certificates Of Origin and the processing of C.O.O.s from customers

Process National Customs Rulings and maintain required records

Preparation of adjusting entries; ensure amendments followed up

Ensure that customs broker is maintaining accurate data on HS tariffs and that tariff items and duty rates are are included in company database

Single and multi-line B3 entries

Prepare necessary documentation in support of year-end audit

CCS Designation, Canadian or US is essential, having both is ideal

Ideally, 5 to 10 years of working with NAFTA Automotive Certificates, HS Tariffs
on both sides of the border and Mexico

Experience as a liaison between the customer and Customs officials; trouble-shooting problems
related to NAFTA regulations, missing/incomplete/inaccurate fields in documentation

Researching and qualifying of goods for Automotive NAFTA certificates using rules of origin
and other requirements, related trade compliance issues

Excellent Communicator with Training experience; persuasive, tactful and articulate

Familiarity with C-TPAT, PIP and AEO concepts and issues is desirable

Growth and development oriented; always striving to improve

Detail-conscious, able to build and maintain excellent relations with CBP/CBSA officials

Very well-established name and reputation in the industry

Hold a valid passport with no cross-border restrictions
