Plan, schedule, monitor, control and report on all aspects of logistics and transportation as it relates to day to day operations
Effectively plan, schedule and arrange all incoming and outbound freight to ensure maximum production efficiency and excellent customer service
Negotiate and arrange the most cost effective transportation for all incoming shipments
Accurately complete all necessary shipping and receiving documentation and provide final quality/accuracy check to such documentation
Ensure each order staged is properly labelled with customer address, description labels, quantities and packing slips
Accurately and efficiently manage the timely flow of shipping/receiving documentation for processing
Develop and maintain a Carrier/Transportation database, complete with "ship lines" and freight rates per destination, per pallet, per customer, and per supplier
Assist with taking inventory of equipment provisions
Participate in the "on-call" rotation schedule and respond to field emergencies
Attend weekly Logistics Team meetings and participate in team decisions and operations
Must have CITT Designation (Canadian Institute Traffic & Transportation)
In-depth knowledge of Logistics, Transportation, Warehousing, Distribution,
Production Planning and Materials Handling Management.
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and ISO 14001 standards.
Computer: Intermediate MSOffice including Word, Excel; Business Vision
